Arts Council Alumni and Member Show 2020
Art embodies the wisdom of the world. Communities that foster, protect, and encourage the arts and humanities succeed and prosper. Those that don’t tend to wither and die. For this reason, Prairie Village and its Arts Council (PVAC) are dedicated to presenting excellent arts programming for our citizenry — even in these COVID-19 pandemic-ridden times. Toward that end the PVAC is now offering its Current and Alumni Council Member Art Show.
Under the direction of curators Shelly Trewolla and Jessamyn “Jessie” Cartwright, the Council installed this exhibition on September 26th at the R. G. Endres Gallery located in the Prairie Village Municipal Complex at 7700 Mission Road.
In addition to Trewolla and Cartwright, participating artists include former council members William “Bill” Rose, Ada Koch, and Julie Flanagan, as well as current council members Kathy Burt Clark, Betsy Holliday, Sherrod Taylor and Paul Tosh.
The show consists of numerous artworks in various mediums, including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photographs, posters, fiber, and papier mâché. Several published writings are also on display.
