The Steering Committee Met virtually this week with our volunteers and community stakeholders to discuss the information gathered through the online survey, online idea “pinboard”, and the in-person community engagement at the Prairie Village Art Show. Group Creatives led us through the data, and we discussed the topics further in break-out rooms.

Above is a bar chart depicting “the most important purpose of Prairie Village’s art & culture” according to respondents, with improving aesthetic quality, creating a sense of place, and humanizing public spaces taking the top three spots.
The areas that came forward as areas for focus:
Leveling Up Our Walkability
Unifying Across Borders and Divisions (physical and/or perceived)
Enhancing Civic Spaces & Infrastructure
Supporting the local artist ecosystem
These four areas are what we discussed in break-out rooms, and we provided even more feedback for Group Creatives to use in the next step of this process, which is drafting the Plan. We look forward to hearing back from the Group Creatives team in September to see what they have for us.
Thank you again to everyone who has participated so far in this process. More to come in September! ☺️
