ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hasna Sal, an Architect by profession, is a US Citizen. She pursued her early education in Mumbai, India; and continued her studies as she moved with her family to the Middle East, the United Kingdom and finally to the United States. She studied fine art in England and Wales for four years, dabbling in a myriad of media including pastels, water colors, oils, acrylics etc. A highlight for her was to be invited to present an exhibition of watercolor renderings at the Cornwall museum in 1997. She then relocated to Boston, MA and completed a five-year NAAB accredited professional degree program in architecture. She moved to Kansas in 2002. In Kansas, she worked as an architect and taught design studio at the University of Kansas; here she confronted the final frontier of her career—the craft of glass sculptures. She had been sculpting glass since 2004. In 2010, She was accepted into Harvard for a postgraduate degree in landscape architecture. Her education at Harvard gave her a greater understanding for the natural world and she translates her observations into her sculptural forms.
