by: Nancy Kalikow Maxwell You are invited to one reception celebrating two Prairie Village firsts: the first Art Show in the new Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse Gallery and the first Diversity Art Exhibition in Prairie Village. On Wednesday, February 2 at 6:00pm a reception will be held the Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse to open the new art show, Celebrating Strength in Diversity. Sponsored by the Prairie Village Arts Council, Johnson County Parks and Recreation District, and Prairie Village Diversity Committee, the exhibition highlights the rich contribution diverse and LGBTQ artists make to the contemporary art scene. The show includes works from local Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and/or LBGTQ artists residing or working in Prairie Village or Johnson County, and features artists Robert Castillo, Smitha George, Quintin Gonzalez, and Jhulan Mukharji. The Diversity exhibition will remain in the Clubhouse gallery until the end of March 2022. For more information, visit JCPRD's website or our shared event Facebook page.
